Just replace the concept of "recovery" with "hip dysplasia." :)
I like the t-shirt!Cassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02028101564319600533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788754421446417718.post-54223921740763787722009-02-02T08:50:00.000-08:002009-02-02T08:50:00.000-08:00Cass - Maybe we should all get "Post PAO Recovery"...Cass - Maybe we should all get "Post PAO Recovery" t-shirts!

I will try to go easy on myself, but I'm not even in "recovery" yet. I am not having my first PAO until July, and then of course the second one 6 months later, and THEN I'll consider myself in recovery. Right now I just consider myself in "decline." Just trying to do some of the things I enjoy until I can't do them any more.

Thanks for the good advice ... I'm used to pushing myself, not cutting myself slack, but you're right, it's time to let that go. In my dance class, I usually am in the front, leading the others and looking graceful and competent. The past two weeks, I've situated myself in the back. Because I can't do some of the moves and still hurt, I feel discouraged. Same goes with lifting weights. Unable to lift as much as I used to, I feel that everyone's looking at me and thinking, "Gosh, she's weak." I want to wear a sign that says "I'm recovering from major surgery" so everyone will know how great I'm doing, not how ungraceful or weak I am!
It will get better. Just go easy on yourself, okay? (And I'll try to do the same!)Cassiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02028101564319600533noreply@blogger.com
